We have an abundance of junk in our landfills so finding ways to repurpose our pumpkins helps to reduce the impact of our holidays & therefore making it more fun in the long run!

While we count candy…

Now that we are figuring out what to do with all of that candy, a lot of us opt for method #1 when it comes to our pumpkins. 

Toss it in the green bin… But do you know some other ideas? We’ll share 2 more ways to repurpose your Jack-O-Lantern in Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville & surrounding areas of Ontario!🎃

 

We are fortunate to have a compost program in our cities & this is a great way to repurpose your jack-o-lantern. It’s easy, it’s quick & it’s helping gardeners in the local area!

But, if you’re an animal lover like me there’s always option #2…

Leave It In The Woods

Donate it to the animals…

Fall is a time of year when the food supply for our forest friends becomes scarce. If you live near a wooded area (or if you plan on a hike this week) you can leave your pumpkin in the woods. The squirrels, chipmunks, birds & mice will certainly appreciate it!

Now, if you aren’t quite ready for the Halloween fun to end you can opt for #3…


Keep Halloween Alive!

Many neighbourhoods have a “day after”  get together where people bring their jack-o-lanterns for an enchanted night of neighbourly fun!
